The Center For Charter Schools at Central Michigan University

Now Accepting Charter School Apps!

On January 25, 2010 Central Michigan University (CMU) Board of Trustees launched its first charter application window under the new "Schools of Excellence" legislation.

CMU uses a competitive, multi-phase application review process. To be considered for Phase I of CMU's competitive application process, follow the directives outlined in the application. Phase I materials are due by March 18, 2010.

Applicants invited to continue into Phase II will be personally notified and provided with further details. As Michigan's leading authorizer, CMU will only consider applications that demonstrate a promising vision, strong academic program, and sound business plan, along with the potential to successfully launch and operate a school in a quality manner. Schools chartered by CMU will pursue the highest standards and will be committed to educational excellence for all children.
